Art Exhibit: Finding our Voices

"Wine & Roses" Grand Re-Opening
Hunter-Wolff Gallery celebrates its new expanded location with a Grand Re-Opening "Wine & Roses" ceremony Saturday, April 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. for the public free of charge. Meet the newest member of the staff, Art Director Mollie Plummer, who will unveil her collection of poignant images on canvas in a style as unique as her collection. Harpist Tiffany VandenHull will perform while guests enjoy studying a body of work by some of the finest representational artists of today. |

Opening Reception - Katherine McNeill
Hunter-Wolff Gallery, 2510 W. Colorado Ave., presents the latest body of work by contemporary master artist and art educator Katherine McNeill. As you contemplate her life-like "Seasons in the Sun" collection, you will sense the serenity of mountain landscapes and quaking aspen groves which reach for the sky, seemingly to grow beyond the canvas, all the way to heaven. Renowned for her unique style, critics comment on her placement of light in a magical, refreshing way combined with layering, composition detailing, and mixing of nature's colors without luminous paints, for a result that has a calming effect stirring the soul. These changing qualities through chiaroscuro on canvas, draws the viewer in and stimulates all human senses. Katherine will also demonstrate her technique starting at 1:00 pm. Reception includes live music and refreshments from 6 pm to 8 pm. Visit the week prior to reserve your purchase before opening night and enjoy a special price. Butterflies & Friends
Hunter-Wolff Gallery is pleased to participate in the important fundraising project, "Butterflies and Friends" to aid the Colorado Springs Rotary Club in its mission to help District 11 Queen Palmer Elementary School turnaround its current financial crisis. Budget constraints have forced the school to take drastic steps and eliminate many important programs including its visual arts curriculum. Without an arts program, students miss an important opportunity in their development that impacts their future success in school, work and life. Through Hunter-Wolff Gallery, Artists Jean Houghton and Ruth Burink are two of 30 local artists, created beautiful butterfly sculptures which will be auctioned at a benefit in October at the Cheyenne Zoo. Pikes Peak Plein Air Painters Show & Sale
