Terrie Lombardi
Hunter-Wolff Gallery proudly presents Colorado native Artist Terrie Lombardi and her lively, memorable oil paintings revealing a living act in the moment as it happens.
Terrie says her goal in painting is to "create images that reflect both the beauty and dignity of her subjects". Many of her paintings present a close-up view of objects that are cropped or singled out to highlight a meaningful moment in time. In her newest collection shown at Hunter-Wolff Gallery, she has chosen a theme inspired by tango music and dance, depicting dancers gliding heatedly across the canvas captured in rich oils, expressive colors and mysterious shadows. One can almost hear the music, feel the strong-tango rhythm and the passion in the air.
With more than 25 years of experience with a paint brush in her hands, she has developed a highly personal vision and signature technique, easily recognized by her sensitive yet bravado application. Collectors appreciate the intimate discoveries depicted in her subject matter, celebrated in her gutsy application of pastel or oil. She masterfully blends vibrant colors, light and dimension to draw in the onlooker like an invitation to a party.
She studied at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design and the Art Students League of Denver. Terrie also participated in numerous workshops with instructors such as Tony Ortega, Carol Katchen, Quang Ho, Kang Cho, Albert Handell, Lorenzo Chavez, Doug Dawson, Desmond O'Hagen, and Kevin Weckbach. She also teaches workshops and is an active member with the Pastel Society of America, and the Pastel Society of Colorado.
Terrie is available for commissioned work for private collectors. Her work is on display and available at the Hunter-Wolff Gallery, 2510 W. Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 at 719-520-9494 or email at: hunterwolffgallery@gmail.com
