Sandy Murphy
Hunter-Wolff Gallery is proud to present exquisite fine jewelry by Murphy Originals, designer Sandy Murphy. Although born in South Africa, Sandy and her family relocated to the United States in 1997. She now resides in Colorado Springs where she continues to grow her business.
Sandy designs and fabricates jewelry under her private label, Murphy Originals. She is very passionate about her work and says what differentiates her designs from others is that she selects gemstones based on understanding their "different qualities and personalities." Having had the opportunity to own her own art gallery for a number of years and work with people on many levels, Sandy further tells us, "Different pieces resonate differently with different people. I love to see my finished pieces and the people they choose."
With a degree in marketing, Sandy spent nearly two decades in the corporate world, promoting companies such as Walt Disney before becoming a full-time jewelry designer/fabricator. She says she was interested in jewelry making for a number of years and dabbled in beading before moving to more challenging design work and metalsmithing. Her passion and creativity flourished.
Initially, Sandy presented her work across the country only at art and jewelry shows. In November 2005, Sandy opened her own unique gallery locally. Changing direction in 2009, she is now working exclusively with galleries like Hunter-Wolff Gallery as her distribution channel so she can focus all her time making fine jewelry and following her true calling.
In a relatively short time, Sandy has created her own contemporary style and delivers impeccable quality workmanship to bring glamour to our lives. Sandy reminds us with these words & "The wonder of our creation is apparent in the multitude of colors, shapes and textures of the raw material and stones with which I work. I feel blessed to go to work and feel like I am playing all day long." Murphy Originals are here to stay.
